I began my professional life as an editor of kids’ magazines at Children’s Television Workshop (now Sesame Workshop) and later moved to Time Inc., where I was a founding editor of Sports Illustrated for Kids and deputy editor of Money for Teens. I’ve written for The New York Times, Working Mother, This Old House, New Jersey Life, ADDitude and Sports Illustrated. I blog occasionally about books, films and the writing life, and I also interview writers for The Days of Yore. My essays have appeared in the anthologies Unbuttoned (Harvard Common Press) and Over the Hill and Between the Sheets (Springboard).
I’m working on a memoir about creativity, and I teach creative writing at Columbia. I also coach writers one-on-one and work with retirees recounting the narratives of their
lives. (I'm a freelance editor as well, a segment of my resumé I’ll expand on some other time.) I hope you’ll contact me if you think I can help with your next writing (or editing) project. Reach me at patricia.e.berry@gmail.com.
